AGNEW – Horse and livestock owners are invited to attend a free workshop on identifying and controlling unhealthy weeds in their pastures and farm fields.
On Wednesday, May 11th at Robin Hill Farm Park in Agnew, Cathy Lucero with Clallam County Noxious Weeds Control Board will identify local weeds that can cause serious health problems in horses and livestock.
Her presentation will include samples of both common and poisonous pasture weeds, and tips for controlling the nuisance plants. Participants are encouraged to bring fresh weeds, in a bag, for identification at the workshop.
Planners with Clallam Conservation District will briefly cover tips to reduce weeds by improving pastures and hay fields through the use of rotational grazing, soil testing, and fertilizing.
Again, that’s Wednesday, May 11th at Robin Hill Farm Park from 10:30-Noon.
Registration is required. Go to clallamcd.org and click on Less Weeds, More Feed Workshop.
