RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) — An autopsy has confirmed that a body found in southeastern Washington belongs to a Washington mother of three who had been reported missing.

Yanira Cedillos disappeared in early March. Since then Moses Lake police have been searching for her body, believing she was killed in her apartment by a Hermiston, Oregon, man.

The Tri-City Herald reports police say information from suspect Juan Gastelum’s cellphone showed he had been in a remote area off Highway 12 near the Washington-Oregon border the day she disappeared. Officers searched the area and discovered a body in a sleeping bag.

A Monday autopsy confirmed it was Cedillos. Gastelum was arrested in March and remains lodged in Umatilla County Jail.
