OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK – Olympic National Park has a new Superintendent.
It was announced Wednesday that Sula Jacobs will begin her new role as Park Superintendent in July. Jacobs has held several permanent and acting superintendent positions over the last 17 years with the agency.
Jacobs’ career with the National Park Service has included Biscayne National Park, Yosemite, and Cumberland Gap National Historical Park before assuming her current superintendent position at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which she has held since 2018.
Jacobs says she’s looking forward to exploring the Olympic Peninsula with family, friends, and her dog.
In December, Jacobs’ predecessor, Sarah Creachbaum, was named as the Park Service’s new Regional Director for Alaska. Creachbaum had served as ONP’s superintendent since 2012.
