PORT ANGELES – A program to deal with addressing youth exposed to traumas in our area is launching a community academy.
The Clallam Resilience Project announced the launching of a 2022-2023 Collaborative Learning Academy funded by Clallam County’s American Rescue Plan Act.
Minnie Whalen of the Resilience Project says the academy taking place will take place October 2022 to June 2023. Applications are due August 5th.
“So, the Collaborative Learning Academy for all Clallam County entities, including organizations businesses, and community coalitions that are striving for hire staff satisfaction and improved client customer outcome,” Said Whalen
The academy provides an opportunity to those who are exposed to trauma sensitive care and want to know how to transfer that care to their organization, Whalen stated.
The Clallam Resilience Project began in 2018 with shared interest from many community members and agency staff who wanted to mobilize a response to help care for at-risk youth. Fifty organizations are working together to foster resilience for the community, Whalen added.
