PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles officials felt the need to announce Monday that, while they know people are excited to ride the new pump track at Erickson Playfield, it’s still under construction and not ready to be used.
If the track is used while the asphalt is still curing, it gets damaged, and that has happened.
They’re asking for everyone’s help to prevent further damage to the track. Please do not enter the fenced-in construction area, and PLEASE DO NOT USE THE TRACK until the project is complete.
At times there might be people testing the track, but if you see obvious trespassing PLEASE CALL PORT ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT non-emergency at (360) 452-4545.
Also, they are looking for volunteers this SATURDAY, June 18th from 8am-4pm to help lay sod at the pump track. No experience necessary, but please bring your own gloves. There might be another volunteer opportunity announced depending on progress made.
