PORT ANGELES – Clallam County’s unemployment rate has remained steady for the last three months.
According to the Employment Security Department, the county has an unemployment rate of 5.4 percent in June. That followed rates of 5.3 percent in both April and May.
The stats show the number of people employed in the county dropped slightly between May and June, but the size of the labor force also went down by about the same number.
June’s unemployment rate is about a full percentage point lower than June of 2021.
Neighboring Jefferson County had an unemployment rate of 5.2 percent last month and the statewide rate was at 3.9 percent.
