PORT ANGELES – The City of Port Angeles is asking users of the brand new pump track at Erickson Field to take a few moments to answer their Pump Track Visitor Use Survey.
They say the survey has been designed to help staff learn more about pump track visitors to our town, and the information gathered will be used when applying for grants and other resources that will help market and maintain the facility.
Parks & Recreation Project Coordinator Tim Tucker says it’s important to gather hard data, partly to show whether Lodging Tax revenues, which are collected from tourists specifically to be used for attracting more visitors, are being used wisely.
“In particular for the pump track, there was $50,000 that came from County L-tax, and another $50,000 that came from the City L-tax. And like no one’s going to look at that, per se, and say, ‘Hey, I’m going to go to Port Angeles because it’s got an ice rink or, you know, pump track.” But there’re very many times that the kind of thing that can be the tipping point. And even more importantly, the reason that people come back.”
The brief survey asks where you’re from, how you first heard about the pump track, and what type of lodging you’ve chosen if visiting our area.
