PORT ANGELES – The Port of Port Angeles’ 2023 Community Partner Program for grant money is opening up next week. Local nonprofit groups with projects coming up next year should see if they qualify.
Community Partner Program offers matching funds of up to $70,000 for use in eligible economic development projects, education projects, community events, tourism promotion, and environmental stewardship programs.
To be eligible, the applicant must be a public or non-profit group or an incorporated or unincorporated small city of no more than 10,000 residents.
The application window will open on September 1 and close at 5:00 pm on September 30.
Port staff will forward all eligible proposals to the Board of Commissioners by the first Commission meeting in October. The Board will then award funds to the worthiest proposals, no later than December 1.
Each successful applicant then has until the end of the 2023 calendar year to spend the project money and submit supporting documentation to the Port of Port Angeles for reimbursement.
