The owner and creator or Funky’s Hot Sauce Factory in Bellingham just won the title of Grand World Champion at a worldwide competition in New York.
Mathew Mini says he perfected his craft of making hot sauce using home grown peppers, according to an article in the Bellingham Herald, and decided to open for business in 2019.
His 1st place winner, which he calls Carolina Reaper, is 1 of several flavors available on his website at funkyshotsaucefactory.com.
Mini says his hot sauces are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and organic, and each bottle is sold for $12 or less.
Since the world title, his Instagram account says, “Please be patient as we process the 100’s of online orders that we’ve received over the last couple days. There are only two of us and we’re doing our best to pack, ship, respond to messages, phone calls and make more sauce.”
