PORT ANGELES – Clallam County Commissioner Bill Peach was booked and released on a DUI Tuesday night after posting $10,000 bail.
Clallam County Prosecutor Mark Nichols told KONP that he outsourced the matter to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in order to avoid a conflict of interest.
Jefferson County Prosecutor James Kennedy filed charges in Clallam District Court 2, and Peach is scheduled to appear Thursday morning.
We asked Commissioner Peach if he’d like to make a statement. He said, “No. It’s a legal matter.”
The Sheriff’s Office told KONP that Peach was arrested by State Troopers with deputies present and was released after posting bail when someone came to pick him up.
Wednesday for Peach was business as usual as he spent the entire morning attending meetings in his official capacity as County Commissioner. He is currently running for re-election in District 3.
