Local BMX track operator awarded our state’s Volunteer of the Year

Bellevue, WA – Lincoln Park BMX President and Track Operator, Sean Coleman, brought home the prestigious 2022 Washington State Volunteer of the Year award this week. Coleman was honored by the Washington Festivals & Events Association at their annual awards dinner in Bellevue on Tuesday, November 2.

Coleman was recognized for creating a BMX venue and organization that is rated #8 in the country out of over 300. Lincoln Park BMX in Port Angeles successfully hosted the 2022 DK Northwest Gold Cup Finals in September, which brought 1,500 riders to the track and thousands of visitors to the Port Angeles area.

Coleman also spearheaded an $850,000 Velosolutions Pump Track built this year in Erickson Park downtown.

Other Recipients for the on the North Olympic Peninsula for the Pacific Northwest Summit Awards included:

Port Angeles Marathon Association – Received 7 Awards – The largest being Run the Peninsula receiving the Best in Show for Washington State. In addition the Port Angeles Marathon Association received these additional awards. Run the Peninsula – Promotional Video, Promotional item (Series Medal) and Healthy Lifestyle event. North Olympic Discovery Marathon- Postcard Mailers, Kids Marathon for Educational Program and Community Outreach,

The two recipients of the North Olympic Peninsula Chapter Event of the Year were The Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend and Twilight Festival in Forks.

Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts – Received 3 awards – Promotional Poster (Small Glories). Direct Season Concert Direct Mailer and Newspaper Tabloid.

Olympic Medical Center Foundation – Received 2 Awards – Event Recap / Annual Report, Sponsorship Proposal  (Harvest of Hope)
