Peninsula College offering $500 grant to new cybersecurity enrollees

PORT ANGELES – Peninsula College students who want to get cybersecurity training will receive $500 in student aid beginning winter quarter 2023.

Because there’s an urgent need nationwide for skilled people in the field, newly enrolled Peninsula College cybersecurity students will receive these Cyber Security Program Funding Grants through the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, and Peninsula College has the only program of its kind offered in Washington State that allows students to attend online, on-campus, or both.

Mia Boster, PC’s dean for Workforce Education, said the college plans to increase cybersecurity enrollments and capacity by 10 full time students per year over the next three years.

Upgrades will be made to cybersecurity classroom computers and equipment to accommodate enrollment growth. In addition to course training, internships and job placement are also in development.

Students will receive support and resources including an instructional classroom support technician, student navigation services, tutoring, peer mentors, and student aid.

Enroll in Peninsula College’s cybersecurity training and receive a $500 grant to get you started, beginning winter quarter, January 3.
