SEQUIM – Two Port Hadlock residents were arrested Tuesday after being caught red-handed burglarizing a home on Chicken Coop Road.
43-year-old Rachelle Wiley and 37-year-old Robert Koschnick were surprised to see a couple of deputies and a Jamestown officer standing in the front yard of the home they were robbing. The deputies had been dispatched to the property on the report of a possible burglary in progress. When they arrived they found an unoccupied 4-door sedan parked outside a locked gate that read, “No Trespassing”.
Deputies and the officer entered the property just as Wiley and Koschnick walked out through the front door. Deputies saw that the front door had been damaged due to forced entry.
They noticed a handbag by the front door which appeared to be full of possessions from inside the house, apparently staged for Koschnick and Wiley to take when they left.
The two were transported and booked into jail for Residential Burglary and Malicious Mischief and their vehicle was impounded.
