PORT ANGELES – The OMC Foundation presented $1 million to Olympic Medical Center at their Commissioner’s meeting last week, the most that it has given in its 38 year history.
The large gift was due to the successful Festival of Trees event that the Foundation staged this month, as well as a gift from an anonymous door.
Foundation Executive Director Bruce Skinner said that the Foundation has given over $1.9 million to OMC this year, which is another record.
The donation will be used in part to help fund a new CT Scan Imaging Machine at the OMC Cancer Center, which will allow patients to be examined locally instead of having to travel outside of the area.
And $180,000 will go toward acquiring new wheelchairs and stretchers for the emergency Room.
