POULSBO — In a typical Port Angeles – North Kitsap boys basketball game, it was a hard-fought very well-coached match. And as usual, the better team on the night won. North Kitsap hit critical free throws in the last two minutes of the game to grind out a 64- 56 win in game that was closer than the score. The Roughriders with the red-hot shooting of Parker Nickerson and the inside scoring from Tyler Hunter gave the Roughriders several four to six-point leads in the 2nd half. Parker Nickerson hit for 25 points including 5, 3-point shots. Tyler Hunter hit for 23 points. The Roughriders have now lost four games in a row with a 6-4 overall record and a 4-1 league record. The Roughriders will host —Kingston on Thursday.

The 2nd ranked Sequim Wolves girls had no problem blowing out Kingston beating the Buccaneers 63-15. Wolves guard Hannah Bates hit 5, 1st quarter 3-point shots and hit for 17 points. Jolene Vaara and Jelessa Julmist both hit for 13 points and Taryn Johnson hit for 9 points. The Wolves host Olympic on Thursday and then have the big game at Port Angeles next Tuesday.
