LOCAL SPORTS: PAHS gets big baseball win

POULSBO — The Roughrider baseball team earned a big 1-0 win over North Kitsap last night. Kyle Acker started on the mound while Elijah Flodstrom was used as middle relief and Blake Sohlberg closed out the game. The only run of the game happened when Elijah Flodstrom attempted to steal 3rd base. An off-target Viking throw let Flodstrom score.

The Roughriders are 3-2 on the season and host North Kitsap tonight at Civic Field with the first pitch at 4:15 pm.

Sequim 2-4 will host Kingston at 4:15 pm.

In fast pitch action, there are 2 big games tonight. 6-0 Port Angeles travels to Silverdale to take on league power Olympic. The Trojans have had a rough start going 1-6 but against a brutal schedule of Edmonds-Woodway, Mount Lake Terrace, Orting, Ridgefeild and a 5-4 loss to 5-0 North Kitsap. The Sequim Wolves will travel to Poulsbo to take on the undefeated Vikings. First pitch in both games is 4:15 pm.

In soccer action, Port Angeles 5-1 will host North Kitsap at 6:45 pm and Sequim 1-3 will be at Bainbridge with a 4:15 pm start.

In tennis, the Roughrider girls travel to North Kitsap and Sequim will host Kingston both matches start at 4 pm.

In a golf match, the Roughriders will be at North Kitsap with the tee time at 3 pm.
