SEQUIM – A Sequim woman who was reported missing Thursday was found safe but cold in a field along Port Williams Road Friday morning and is being treated for exposure.
78-year-old Karen Grennan was reported missing by her husband early Thursday morning. He told police his wife left her phone and wallet behind and was last seen by a neighbor driving her car and was possibly wearing a nightgown.
Grennan’s car was later found in the parking lot of Port Williams Beach at about 10:00am, unoccupied. Clallam County Search and Rescue brought in people on the ground. The search also included a drone operated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, a patrol boat from Jamestown Fish & Game, a Coast Guard helicopter, Northwest Bloodhounds and Kitsap County Search and rescue K9s. The search was called off at about 7:00pm Thursday.
Then on Friday at about 9:00 am, a Sequim resident called 911 reporting someone had found a woman in a field in the area of the 2200 block of Port Williams Road. Deputies and medical crews responded and found Grennan being taken care of by Sequim citizens.
She was transported to the Olympic Medical Center where she is being treated for exposure to overnight conditions.
