BELFAIR — In girls fast pitch action, the Sequim Wolves used the long ball to beat North Mason 12-2. Sequim Center fielder Mia Pozernick crushed a 2 run home run in the 2nd inning and a 3 run home run in the 4th inning. Pozernick was 4 of 5 with two homers, a double and a single. Taylee Rome, hitting .709, went 5 for 5 with a double and 4 singles and scoring 3 runs. Hannah Bates went 2 for 4 and scored 3 runs. Jordan Kidd went 2 for 3. The Wolves had great defensive play from third baseman Ava Ritter, first baseman Sammie Bacon and shortstop Bates. Pitcher Laney Vig was outstanding on the mound, giving up just one hit and striking out 5. The Wolves are now 8-3 in league play and will host Kingston tomorrow.

The 10th-ranked Port Angeles Roughriders gave starting pitcher Cheyenne Zimmer a day off, played a lot of their young players, and still beat Kingston in 5 innings 10-0.
Sophomore pitcher Heidi Leitz pitched a four-inning shutout with 7 strike outs. Relief pitcher Lynzee Reid came in and closed the door in the 5th to get the save.
Sophomore outfielder Ava Anne Sheahan is another young Roughrider that just makes big plays. Sheahan, who runs like a gazelle in the outfield, is getting hot at the plate. She went 2 for 2 with a two-run home run and a double with 3 RBIs. Freshman Kennedy Rognlien went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs.
The big game takes place tomorrow in Poulsbo as the Roughriders, 8-2 in league play, take on the 3rd ranked North Kitsap Vikings. The Vikings are undefeated, and a Viking win over the Roughriders with give them the Olympic League championship. The game will be broadcast on Newsradio KONP.

In high school golf action Sequim out shot Bremerton 175-193. Cole Smithson had the hot clubs shooting a 38. Zack Thompson shot a 44. Carter Cronin shot a 45. Lars Wiker shot 48. Cody Dunscomb shot a 49 and Jake Bell shot a 55.
