PORT ANGELES – An hours-long standoff ended with an arrest last night in Port Angeles.
Law enforcement from around the region were called in to the suspect who barricaded himself inside a home near Lopez Avenue and Vine Street.
It began when Port Angeles Police went to the area on a domestic violence call at about 1 pm Tuesday. Cops were unable to communicate with the suspect and called in a negotiation team. Also brought in, a SWAT vehicle from Jefferson County.
Roads in the area were closed all afternoon into the evening, and law enforcement eventually lobbed gas into the house and officers were able to enter. The suspect was arrested just before eight last night. His name has not been released.
