PORT ANGELES – Governor Jay Inslee is coming to Port Angeles Friday, June 2. He’ll begin his morning here with a visit to Peninsula College at 10:00. We’re told he’ll be touring the nursing program to see the new simulation tools used in training medical students, visiting the Medical Assisting program, and talking with folks about the college’s new instructional programs that are in development.
Also on the Governor’s itinerary is a visit to Peninsula Behavioral Health’s Dawn View Court supportive housing units, which were recently remodeled to house “individuals experiencing homelessness or behavioral health challenges.”
He’ll be stopping by City Hall at noon to meet with city officials and local partners to discuss housing strategies and challenges.
The Governor will wrap up his visit with a tour of the award-winning Erickson Playfield, including a demonstration of the new ADA-accessible pump track. That’s scheduled for 1:30.
