PORT ANGELES – The city of Port Angeles has lifted its boil water precaution as of this morning.
City staff say satisfactory water sample results received Tuesday morning warrant lifting the citywide notice. It is no longer necessary to boil tap water or consume bottled water.
The boil-water notice was in effect following repairs to a water transmission main and subsequently low water levels in the city’s reservoirs.
City officials say they issued the boil water notice out of an abundance of caution. Samples taken on Monday, August 28th, were tested and it has been verified that the water is safe to drink and use.
Meantime, if you experience discolored water, officials say please flush your water lines by running the water in a bathtub or faucet until the water runs clear.
