PORT TOWNSEND – The investigation continues into two stabbings in east Jefferson County.
Yesterday, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Port Townsend Police responded to a possible sighting of a 42-year-old man who had been identified as the suspect from a stabbing Sunday evening. That sighting was on State Route 20 near Seton Road.
When officers arrived, they saw the man flee into the thick brush along the highway. He later emerged armed with a knife and refused to stop.
Deputies shot non-lethal foam rounds trying to get him to drop the knife. That didn’t work, and the suspect began to stab himself in the neck and throat. After using Tasers, deputies and officers were able to subdue him and give medical attention. He was then airlifted from the scene.
The condition of the suspect and his earlier victim haven’t been released.
