Blue Whole Gallery to host fundraiser for Sequim Warming Center

SEQUIM – This October, Blue Whole Gallery in Sequim is partnering with the Sequim Warming Center to bring awareness and understanding to the Warming Center’s mission.

Last fall and winter, the Sequim Warming Center saw 506 total check-ins, with 102 unique clients. They’re anticipating even higher numbers this upcoming season than in previous years, with a projected expense of over $30,000.

Expenses include staffing, utilities, and rental costs. The warming center also provides food and beverages, clothing and blankets, internet service, and access for clients to connect with other outreach services and resources.

During the month of October, proceeds from the sale of select artwork will be donated to support the Olympic Community Action Program’s Sequim Warming Center.

Veteran artists Sheri Whetstine, Janet Piccola, and Jean Glaser will curate the gallery windows with fine art related to the theme “Baby It’s Cold Outside”.

Join them Friday, October 6th for First Friday Art Walk, 5pm – 8 pm, and meet some Sequim Warming Center volunteers and employees to learn more about their mission.

Celebrate with us as we honor the commitment of a wonderful and worthwhile organization.
