LOCAL SPORTS: Sequim wins in soccer, loses in football

KINGSTON — In high school soccer action last night, the Sequim Wolves finished their regular season with a 3-0 shutout of Kingston. Taryn Johnson had 2 goals. Olive Bridge scored the other goal and Raimey Brewer had 2 assists. The Wolves now wait until Sunday for their district tournament draw.

The Sequim Wolves football team ended their season on a tough night taking on a 10th ranked Bremerton Knight team that played like it beating Sequim 62-17. The Wolves finish their season with a 2-6 record.

There is soccer action tonight as the Roughriders travel to Bremerton for a 6:45 kickoff. The Roughriders have qualified for the district tournament as well and could end up with the #8 seed which would put them up against #1 seed Fife.

In volleyball action tonight the Roughriders travel to Bremerton for a 6:15 first serve.

In high school football action tonight, the Port Angeles Roughriders will be 4 touchdown favorites over the North Mason Bulldogs. The Bulldogs 1-7 are averaging just 9 points per game and give up 40 points per game. The Roughriders 5-3 are averaging 34 points per game and giving up 26 points per game. It will be the last home game for 14 Roughrider Seniors. You can hear the live action right here on KONP Newsradio with the pre-game show starting at 5:30 featuring QB Parker Nickerson and running back Kason Albaugh. Followed by the Dustin Clark Show. The Roughriders will find out Sunday afternoon their draw for their district tournament game next weekend.

The district tennis tournament opens this morning at 8 am and goes on through Saturday in Bremerton.
