ENUMCLAW — Last night, the Port Angeles Roughriders stayed alive in the district soccer tournament with a 2-1 win over Highline.
It took just 20 seconds into the game for the Roughriders to score. Izzy Felton found Kedryn DeScala in front of the goal and DeScala deflected the ball into the net for the 1-0 lead. At the 63rd minute, Teanna Clark scored on an unbelievable shot off a corner kick that curved into the net for the game winner.

The Roughriders now have a “loser out winner to state” game with #4 seed Enumclaw who beat Franklin Pierce 9-0. The game is tomorrow at Enumclaw with the kickoff at Noon.
In a district semifinal soccer game, the #5 seed Sequim Wolves fell to the #1 seed Fife Trojans 4-0. The Trojans have now outscored their opponents 103-1. The Wolves will now face #3 seed Sammamish Saturday at Noon for 3rd and 4th place into the state tournament. The game is at Sammamish High School.
The seeds for state will come out this Sunday afternoon. The first round will begin November 7th and 8th. Sammamish lost to 2nd seed North Kitsap 4-0. North Kitsap will play Fife for the Championship right after the Sequim – Sammamish game.

The district volleyball tournament opens tonight. Port Angeles takes on Orting at Sammamish High School with the first serve at 6 pm. Sequim takes on North Kitsap at Foss High School with the first serve at 6 pm.

Then it’s part one of the Roughrider Lockerroom Show with Hunter, River and Travis Flores. Part 2 will be the voice of Civic Field Pete Rennie. Kickoff is set for 7 pm. Oly Archibald has the live play by play and Greg Thomas has the Color commentary.

The NWAC preseason basketball polls are out, and the Peninsula Pirate women are ranked 3rd. Two weeks from tonight we will begin our Basketball broadcasts as the Pirate women take on 4th ranked Walla Walla at Columbia Basin College in Pasco with the tip off at 6 pm. It’s a major rebuild season for the Pirates as head coach Allison Crumb has 11 new players on her roster.
