PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Roughrider bowling team swept Bremerton 7-0 and are now 4-1 on the season. The Roughriders had a season-high Baker Score of 171. Abby Robinson led the way with a score of 185. Paige Pangaro bowled a 138.
“Those two have been a big part of our success,” said Roughrider Head Coach Becky Gundersen. Also back in the lineup was Sophomore Zoey Van Gordon who had a 146 average.
“Zoey brings a lot of energy to each match. It was great having her back,” said Gundersen. Sophie Constant, Xoey Penn and Caidence Pozcrzycki also aided in the win. The Roughriders travel to state power Klahowya today and to Bremerton on Thursday.
The Sequim Wolves travels to Olympic today.

There is girls high school basketball action tonight, as the Roughriders host 2B Forks with the tip off at 7 pm.

This Saturday, we will have a high school double header on KONP. At 3 pm, the Roughrider girls take on state-power WF West at Chehalis. The Bearcats are led by junior All American, 6’3″ post Julia Dalan. Dalan is the daughter of former Sequim Wolves and Washington Huskies linemen Aaron Dalan. Last year, in the Bearcats blow out win against the Roughriders, Dalan scored 29 points playing in just half the game.

In game two of our double header, the Sequim Wolves boys will travel to Fife to take on the Trojans. Tipoff is at 7 pm.

On Sunday KONP Newsradio will also broadcast a double header as the Peninsula Pirate women’s basketball team hosts the Lower Columbia College Red Devils. Tipoff is at 2 pm. It will be a homecoming for former Roughrider Bailee Larson and Neah Bay Red Devil Courtney Swan. At 6 pm it will be the Pirate men taking on South Puget Sound. Oly Archibald, Joe Gladfelter and Bill Bates will have the play by play.
