PORT ANGELES — In high school bowling action yesterday, the Port Angeles Roughriders beat Sequim 5-2. After splitting the first 2 games the Roughriders took both Baker games as well as total pin count to take the match. Abby Robinson averaged a 172 to lead the way while Zoey Van Gordon set a new season high of 159 in game one.
Morgan Kayser rolled a 165 and Nikoline Updike bowled a 156 for the Wolves. The Roughriders will host North Mason and Sequim will host Klahowya tomorrow at Laurel lanes.

Former Roughrider and Peninsula Pirate Millie Long of NCAA D2 Cal Poly Humboldt, is off to a fast start for the Lumberjack basketball team. Long who had an outstanding soccer season has led the Lumberjacks to a 4-2 record. Long has started 4 of the 5 games that she has played in. Long is averaging 15 points per game, 4 rebounds per game, 4 assists per game, and 4 steals.

There is plenty of high school basketball action beginning Thursday night. The Roughrider girls will host Bremerton at 7 pm. On Saturday, the Roughriders host Central Kitsap at 4:30 pm.
On Friday, the Roughrider boys have a very tough game at Bremerton at 7 pm, that game will be broadcast on Newsradio KONP.
Also Friday, the Sequim Wolves will have a double header at Bainbridge with the Sequim girls finally getting to play a game with the tip off at 6:30 pm. The boys will tip off at 8 pm. On Saturday, the Sequim boys will host Vashon with the tip off at 7 pm.

The Peninsula Pirate men will head to Edmonds for a 3-day cross over tournament. On Friday, the Pirates will tip off at 5 pm against South Puget Sound. On Saturday, the Pirates will tip off at 2 pm against Pierce College. On Sunday, the Pirates will play Blue Mountain at Noon.
The Peninsula Pirate women have won 4 games in a row, they will play Treasure Valley Sunday at Bellevue College with the tip off at Noon.
