Sequim School Board President announces run for State Rep

By Pepper Fisher

SEQUIM – Sequim School Board President Eric Pickens announced on Friday that he is throwing his hat in the ring to be our next State Representative for the 24th District, a seat that will be vacated by Mike Chapman.

Pickens, who describes himself as an experienced educator, labor leader, and a veteran, will officially kick off his campaign Saturday at 11:00 AM. The event will take place at the Sequim Civic Center Plaza on Cedar Street downtown.

Pickens said in a news release Friday the kickoff event will provide an opportunity for him to share his vision, connect with constituents, and outline his key priorities for the district.

Also joining Pickens for his kickoff are current 24th District State Representative Mike Chapman and Washington Education Association President Larry Delaney.

Again, that’s going to be at 11:00am Saturday in the Sequim Civic Center Plaza in front of Sequim City Hall.
