***UPDATED INFORMATION**
On 12/28/23 at approximately 0600 hours, David Burgess fled from deputies in a stolen 20065 maroon Mazda 6, WA Plate CHH4795. He was last seen southbound on Palo Alto Road. Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies and WA State Patrol Troopers are in the area searching for David Burgess and residents are asked to call 911 if they see him or or the vehicle.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for a man, they believe, set fire to a home on Hooker road in Sequim yesterday.
But the search for David R. Burgess didn’t begin then. It started on December 23rd.
On that date, deputies were dispatched to a report of an assault on Youngquist Rd., Sequim. As a result of the investigation, Deputies issued probable cause for the arrest of 40 year old Sequim resident, David R. Burgess for Assault in the 2nd Degree/Domestic Violence and Felony Harassment (Threats to Kill). Burgess fled the scene and Deputies were unable to locate him at that time.
Yesterday, December 27th, at about 4:51 pm, Deputies were dispatched to a report of an Arson in the 900 block of Hooker Rd., Sequim. Clallam County Fire District 3 was dispatched and first responders located a fully engulfed house at that location.
Witnesses stated Burgess set the house on fire, while it was occupied, along with a vehicle outside the residence. Burgess fled into the woods. The occupant escaped the residence unharmed.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Jefferson County Sheriffs, attempted to apprehend Burgess utilizing drone heat sensing technology but could not locate him.
Probable cause exists to arrest Burgess for Assault 2nd Degree, Felony Harassment and Arson 1st Degree.
