City of Port Angeles releases hard data on short-term rentals

Port Angeles – The City of Port Angeles has posted to its Short-Term Lodging website the new inventory report of short-term rental properties within the city.

This inventory report indicates which properties are compliant and non-complaint within various zoning designations and how much estimated lodging tax revenue is being generated.

The survey found there are 234 short term rentals operating within the city limits. Forty nine are considered operating in compliance with current city zoning regs, while 185 are in non-compliant zones. All of the short term rentals bring in just under 295-thsoudan dollars a year in lodging tax revenue. Those considered non-compliant account for 250-thsoudand dollars of that tax revenue.

The City recently announced its overall project webpage for Short-Term Lodging in Port Angeles. This page is designed to inform and invite community members to participate in the regulatory development process for short-term rental and bed-and-breakfasts operations. As part of this process, residents are encouraged to review the proposed measures and engage in the online survey, feedback sessions, and public hearings scheduled for January and February.
