PORT ANGELES – Last week’s Olympic Medical Center Foundation Red, Set, Go! Heart Luncheon set a new record for funds raised
The annual charity event, presented by Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, raised a record net $133,000 on Friday. That exceeded last year’s record-breaking total by $12,000.
Over 400 people attended the event, which was also a new record.
The money will go towards providing scholarship funds to enable the Heart Center to grow its workforce. Some of the funds will be used to purchase a much-needed overhead lift system to help Cardiac Sonographers at OMC.
The Red, Set, Go Luncheon is also an educational event, as the lunch also promotes that the key to eradicating heart disease is knowledge.
