PORT ANGELES – A new organization is taking over the management of the Dungeness Crab Festival, formally the now world famous Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival.
After overseeing the festival as a founder and the director for 23 years, Scott Nagel has passed the reins to the new group, Dungeness Crab Festival.
The festival, scheduled this year for October 11, 12 and 13 at the Port Angeles Waterfront, will continue Nagel’s legacy. The initial board of directors are Victoria Jones, Neil Conklin, Michael McQuay, and Rose Thompson, all local business owners with decades of festival experience. And they plan to make it bigger and better than ever in the coming years, with an ambitious goal of attracting 15,000 attendees this year and incrementally increasing to a capacity target of 30,000.
