PORT ANGELES – A couple of incidents were reported over the weekend by the Port Angeles Fire Department.
On Friday at around 8:00pm, crews were dispatched to a report of a vehicle crashing into a building at 405 E. Front St. They arrived to find a sedan had run off the road, struck the corner of a garage and then smashed into the staircase of an apartment building.
Fire officials report only one person, the driver, required medical attention and was treated and released on scene. The living quarters of the apartments were unaffected by the crash.
On Saturday, fire crews were dispatched to a house fire at 4:00am. They arrived to find smoke coming from the attic of a single family residence. The address was not given in the report.
Firefighters let themselves in and were able to put a quick stop to the fire. They searched the building and confirmed there was nobody in the home.
They say the person who lives there will have to relocate until repairs to the home can be completed.
