LOCAL SPORTS: High school spring sports move into full swing

SEQUIM — If anyone has cabin fever, there are plenty of high school athletic events tonight to entertain the sport masses.

In baseball action, the Sequim Wolves; who beat Forks 13-3 yesterday; will travel to Bainbridge with the first pitch at 4:15.

The Port Angeles Roughriders, coming off thier 13-8 win over Sehome, travel to Bremerton for a 4:15 first pitch.

The Sequim Wolves fast pitch team opens the season today hosting Forks at 4:15. The always colorful Skipper of the Wolves Mike McFarlen has a major rebuild after losing a large group of outstanding multiple sport stars.

Wolves’ Skipper Mike McFarlen, a media favorite, always has his team ready to go and is well respected by players and parents

However, the cupboard is not bare. The Wolves return the talented and athletic Taylee Rome. Rome is rumored to take over shortstop for all-world Hannah Bates. Rome is one of the top 5 players in the league, and if the Wolves can develop enough solid pitching there is no reason they can’t compete for a district playoff spot.

In soccer action tonight, the Roughriders host Kingston and the Wolves travel to North Mason. Both contests have 6:45 kickoffs.

In golf action, the Roughrider host Kingston and the Wolves are at North Mason, Tee times are at 3:00.
