PORT ANGELES — The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris might still be 4 months away, but the Klahhane Gymnastics team is already bringing home the medals and qualifying for bigger attractions.
Klahhane participated in the 2024 Washington State Xcel Gymnastics Championships in Pasco. Elyse Brown was the biggest show, placing 1st in the floor exercise with a score of 9.6. Lorelei Sanders and Zayleigh McCullem both finished 2nd in the vault with scores of 9.4. Lainey DePiro placed 2nd in the vault with an 8.5 and 3rd in the always tough beam with a 9.3. Harper Hilliker placed 3rd in the vault with a score of 9.2.
Mariah Traband placed 3rd on the floor with a 9.5. Scarlett Sullivan placed 3rd in the vault with a 9.4.
The six Klahhane Gymnasts heading to regionals are Elyse Brown, Scarlett Sullivan, Mariah Traband, Harper Hilliker, Carley Mae Riggs and Paytynn Lindley.

There is a full schedule of high school sporting events today.
In golf action, the Roughriders are at Olympic and Sequim will host Kingston with both T times at 3:00.
In soccer, Bremerton is at Port Angeles with a 7:15 kick off. Kingston is at Sequim with a 6:45 kickoff.
In fast pitch action, Sequim is at home with Kingston and the Roughriders are at North Kitsap. Both games start at 4:15.
In baseball action the 8-2 Roughriders are at home with the 4-4. Sequim Wolves with the first pitch at 6:30.
