CARLSBORG – The Clallam PUD board has picked a sitting Olympic Medical Center Commissioner to fill a vacancy on the PUD board.
Yesterday Phyllis Bernard was chosen 2-0 to take the seat left vacant with the death of Jim Waddell.
Bernard is currently an at-large commissioner for the Olympic Medical Center board, as well. She now will serve on the PUD board through the rest of this year and then could choose to run for the seat in the November election.
Bernard has experience with utilities, She was also a board member of Southwest Power Pool in Arkansas. That’s a non-profit that deals with electrical transmission. She also holds numerous educational degrees including a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Bernard was chosen over Ken Simpson and Ken Reandeau for PUD the position.
