SHINE — The scheduled closures of the SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge originally set for June 10-14 have been cancelled. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced that the overnight closures will now take place later in the month.
The rescheduled closures will occur from 10 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning on the Monday, June 17 through Saturday, June 22 and Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28
WSDOT says the the closures are necessary for contractor crews to continue work on one of the bridge’s center locks. Completion of this task is essential before crews can proceed to work on the bridge’s shock absorbers, which necessitates the night-time traffic closures.
Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternative routes during the closure times.
