Someone wants to build a large distribution warehouse next to Fairchild Airport

By Pepper Fisher

PORT ANGELES – The construction of a 35,000 square foot distribution warehouse has been proposed on a property near Fairchild Airport in Port Angeles, but KONP has been unable to nail down exactly who will do business there.

The 11.6 acre property sits at the intersection of South Airport Road and West Edgewood Drive. The business plans to have a square building with six truck dock bays and enough parking for 114 fleet vehicles and 114 employees.

Because the property is near the airport and owned by the Port, we asked Port of Port Angeles officials if they could tell us which company plans to move here. We were told they are under a non-disclosure agreement and can’t comment.

The public comment period for the project ends this Friday, and the SEPA permit application says the contractor hopes construction can begin in October and wrap up sometime in May of next year.
