PORT ANGELES — In the latest election, voters in the Olympic Medical Center District have approved the Levy Lid Lift with 59.34% in favor (7,141 votes) and 40.66% against (4,894 votes), out of 12,035 total votes.
However, two tax measures for Clallam 2 Fire Rescue have likely failed. The Property Tax Levy lift saw 48.88% approval (743 votes) and 51.12% rejection (777 votes) out of 1,520 votes. The Property Tax Levy for Emergency Medical Services, despite receiving majority support with 51.87% (790 votes), did not meet the required 60% threshold, facing 48.13% opposition (733 votes).
In the US Congressional District 6 race, Emily Randall (Democrat) is leading with 33.28% (37,441 votes), followed by Drew C. MacEwen (Republican) with 30.49% (34,309 votes).
For State Senator in Legislative District 24, Mike Chapman (Democrat) holds a strong lead with 54.58% (14,304 votes). Marcia Kelbon (Republican) has 40.4% (10,493 votes), and James Russell (Democrat) received 5.32% (1,394 votes).
In the primary for State Representative Position 1 in Legislative District 24, Adam Bernbaum (Democrat) leads with 28.93% (7,469 votes), closely followed by Matthew Roberson (Republican) with 27.21% (7,025 votes). Eric Pickens (Democrat) has 17.28% (4,462 votes), JR Streifel (Republican) has 12.75% (3,292 votes), and Nate Tyler (Democrat) has 13.77% (3,554 votes).
For State Representative Position 2 in Legislative District 24, incumbent Steve Tharinger (Democrat) leads with 60.13% (15,704 votes), followed by Terry Roberts (Republican) with 25.63% (6,695 votes).
In the primary for County Commissioner No. 2, Randy Johnson, with no party preference, leads with 54.86% (2,271 votes), followed by Kate Dexter (Democrat) with 41.33% (1,711 votes), and Anders Tron-Haukebo (Democrat) with 3.36% (139 votes).
In the primary for Public Utility District 1 Commissioner District 3, Ken Simpson leads with 37.23% (770 votes), Phyllis Bernard is close behind with 37.04% (766 votes), and Kenneth Reandeau has 25.19% (521 votes).
