5 year sentence for Clallam County man who sold stolen weapons

PORT ANGELES – On August 8, a 40-year-old Clallam County resident was sentenced to 5 years in prison for dealing in stolen weapons and trafficking Fentanyl.

The investigation into Jeremy R. Anderson began in February when a man brought two handguns into a local gun shop to sell on consignment. The local dealer discovered the two firearms had been previously reported stolen, one from Yakima and the other from Anchorage, Alaska.

OPNET detectives approached the seller and were told that he had purchased three guns from Anderson before taking two of them to the gun dealer. Anderson is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

An arrest warrant was obtained from Clallam County Superior Court to arrest Anderson for multiple counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Trafficking Stolen Firearms. On March 3 investigators initiated a traffic stop on Anderson in east Clallam County, and he was arrested without incident. Anderson was armed with a semi-automatic pistol at the time of his arrest. A search warrant was obtained for the motorcycle he was on at the time of the arrest, which yielded almost 140 grams of meth, 48 grams of fentanyl, digital scales, baggies, and currency.

Anderson pled guilty to multiple counts of firearms, drug and trafficking in stolen merchandise charges before his sentencing of 5 years.
