High winds expected Monday through Tuesday

PORT ANGELES — High winds are set to sweep across the area with gusts up to 60 mph expected through early Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service says south winds from 25 to 35 mph will shift west by mid-morning and continue through the night.

These powerful gusts could topple trees, bring down power lines, and lead to widespread outages, making travel risky, especially for taller vehicles. With leaves still on the trees, the potential for wind damage is even higher.

Residents are encouraged to stay indoors, particularly on lower levels and away from windows, while drivers are advised to be cautious. The high wind warning remains in effect until 4 a.m. Tuesday.
