PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a burglary suspect Tuesday night at the Higher Grounds coffee stand at 51 N. Oakridge Dr.
The business owner reported to 911 after seeing a man on surveillance cameras breaking into the stand. The suspect fled toward a wooded area before deputies arrived.
Deputies set up containment and found the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Samuel A. Langley of Port Angeles, about 100 yards from the scene. A trail of stolen merchandise led to his location.
Investigators determined Langley forced entry into the business, causing $4,000 in damage and stealing $900 worth of goods, most of which were recovered.
Langley was booked into the Clallam County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree theft, and second-degree malicious mischief.
