Festival of Trees sets new fundraising record

PORT ANGELES — The 34th annual Festival of Trees, hosted by the Olympic Medical Center Foundation over Thanksgiving weekend, netted a record $231,000 to benefit patient care and workforce development at Olympic Medical Center.

Organizers attributed the event’s success to the community’s generosity, which will provide critical funding for patient care and a scholarship program aimed at addressing the medical center’s workforce shortage.

The festival began Wednesday night with the Opening Ceremonies presented by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe. Friday’s Gala, presented by First Fed, featured the auction and raffle of 46 decorated trees.

Additional highlights included the Senior Breakfast sponsored by The Cottages of Sequim on Friday morning, the Teddy Bear Tea presented by Erika Ralston of Windermere on Saturday, and Family Days, sponsored by The Lodge at Sherwood Village, Sherwood Assisted Living, and Fifth Avenue Retirement, on Saturday and Sunday.

Proceeds will directly support Olympic Medical Center’s scholarship program and patient care initiatives.
