Nominations for 2024 Sequim Citizen of the Year Award are open

Sequim – Nominations for 2024 Sequim Citizen of the Year Award are open now through January 31.

The Citizen of the Year award was established six decades ago to recognize individuals, who, through volunteer efforts, have made the Sequim-Dungeness Valley a better place to live. The original award went to former mayor Peter Black in 1968 for his many selfless efforts in the community.

The Citizen of the Year committee is made up of former winners of the award.

The Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that nominations must be completed and received no later than 4PM on Friday, January 31. The application and rules can be picked up in paper form from the Visitor Information Center on E. Washington Street, or online at sequimchamber.com/coty/. This year, the form on the website is electronic, and the rules of the contest are included on the web page.

Results will be announced on February 25th at a luncheon event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
