Port Angeles – It looks like 6 new roundabouts are coming to Port Angeles streets sometime in 2027.
The City’s application for a grant for the design and construction of 6 mini-traffic circles at 4-way intersections along Laurel, Sixth Street and Second Street has been approved by the Washington State Department of Transportation, and the City Council is expected to officially accept the $2,175,000 grant at tonight’s (Tuesday’s) council meeting.
The Traffic Circle Program Project will include the traffic circles and curb ramps at 3 locations along Laurel Street, 3 on Sixth Street, and 2 on East Second Street. You can see exactly where they will be located on the map we’ve included with this story on our website at myclallamcounty.com.
Design is scheduled for 2026 followed by construction in 2027.
The project is expected to be completed using no City funds.
