SEQUIM — As expected, the Sequim Wolves had no problem knocking off Foss 76-50 in their quarterfinal district game last night at Rick Kaps Gymnasium.
Jericho Julmist led the way with 37 points, with plenty of support from Ethan Melnick, who scored 14 points. Solomon Sheppard added 12 points and, along with Julmist, thrilled the crowd with electrifying slam dunks.
The Wolves led 40-21 at halftime and never looked back. They will now take on Franklin Pierce in a semifinal game next Friday night at Foss High School, with tip-off at 5:00 p.m. Franklin Pierce (18-3) dominated Olympic last night, winning 68-30. It was the 14th straight win for the Cardinals, whose three losses came against 3A schools.

Franklin Pierce senior Javon Barbee is averaging 29 points per game for the Cardinals. The Wolves will face the Cardinals on Friday at Foss in a 5:00 p.m. semifinal matchup.

The Port Angeles Roughriders fell behind Bremerton 26-3 early, and the Knights cruised to an easy 82-30 semifinal-clinching victory. Bremerton will play Bainbridge at 7:00 p.m. Friday night at Foss, following the Sequim game.
The Roughriders will now travel to Clover Park on Friday for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off in a loser-out game. Clover Park fell to Bainbridge last night, 54-44.
Port Angeles Girls Face Tough Challenge in Semifinals
The Port Angeles Roughrider girls will be big underdogs tonight as they take on the Eatonville Cruisers in a semifinal matchup.
The Cruisers (20-3) are led by 5’7″ senior Bailey Andersen, who averages 23 points per game. Andersen is the all-time leading scorer in Eatonville basketball history. Inside, the Cruisers rely on 6’4″ senior Lillian Bickford, who averages 12 points and 8 rebounds per game.
Since Andersen’s return from injury midway through the season, Eatonville has been averaging over 70 points per game.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast on KONP Newsradio, with the Les Schwab Tires Pre-Game Show starting at 4:45 p.m. Oly Archibald and Bill Bates will have the call.
NWAC Basketball Action
In NWAC action last night, the Peninsula Pirates men’s basketball team faced No. 1-ranked Skagit Valley in Mount Vernon. The Cardinals were too much for the Pirates, coming away with an 88-37 win. Jaiden Blackmon led the Pirates with 12 points.
The third-ranked Pirate women took on a tough 10th-ranked Skagit Valley team, coached by Deb Castle, and secured their 19th straight victory with a hard-earned 66-57 win.
The standout performance of the game came from freshman Alecsis Smith, who played only eight minutes but still led the Pirates with 15 points and five rebounds.
Ciera Agasiva added 14 points, Lexie Mackey scored 12, and Shania Moanunu came off the bench to contribute 10 points.
The Pirates (12-0, 20-2) will travel to Everett for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday.
Stevens Stampeders Dominate Forks
The Stevens Stampeders basketball teams dominated Forks yesterday.
In the 7th-grade game, the Stampeders crushed Forks 62-15. Maddie Wright continued her hot streak, torching Forks with 24 points. Skylar Wheeler also had a strong performance, scoring 22 points. Mila Johnson added 8 points, Pepper McCaslin scored 6, and Kaleah Quilt chipped in 2.
In the 8th-grade game, the Stampeders secured a 38-22 win. Maelyn Benedict led the way with 15 points. Nyah Langdon, Darcy Ring, and Kya Baker each scored 7 points, while Mya Hill contributed 2 points.

The Stevens’ 8th grade team beat Forks 38-22 and have showed great improvement since the beginning of their 7th grade year.
District Basketball Action Tonight
There is district basketball action tonight at Sequim High School, as the Neah Bay Red Devils host a doubleheader.
- The No. 1-ranked defending state champion Red Devil girls tip off at 5:00 p.m. against Muckleshoot.
- The No. 2-seed Red Devil boys take the court at 6:30 p.m. against their rivals, No. 3-seed Tulalip.
