SEQUIM – A house fire in Sequim on Friday morning resulted in no injuries, as the home was unoccupied at the time. However, the house was left unlivable due to significant smoke damage. Clallam 3 Fire Chief Justin Grider says a school bus driver reported the house at 721 S Still Road appeared to be filling up with smoke. Grider said the homeowner later returned and suffered a medical event when she discovered a fire had occurred while she was out. She was taken to Olympic Medical Center for evaluation.
The chief stated that the fire appears to have been caused by materials placed too close to a heat source.
