PORT ANGELES — A family was displaced Saturday after a fire damaged their home off Glass Road east of Port Angeles.
At 11:52 a.m., Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue responded to reports of a house fire. Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Denton said the first arriving officer found an exterior fire that had spread into the attic.
Fire crews began an exterior attack through the gable end of the roof to control the fire while waiting for additional units. With support from incoming crews, firefighters moved to an interior attack and contained the fire within 15 to 20 minutes.
Crews remained on scene for about an hour and a half to overhaul the structure and confirm the fire was out. The home was then turned back over to the owners.
Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue was assisted by the Port Angeles Fire Department, which responded with one engine and a chief officer, and Clallam County Fire District #3, which provided another engine.
No injuries were reported. Denton said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
