SEQUIM — A suspect remains at large following a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon at Kitsap Bank on West Washington Street, according to Sequim Police.
Officers responded around 3:30 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery. A masked man entered the bank with pepper spray, demanded cash from a teller, and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported, and police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Eyewitnesses told investigators the man may have gotten into a nearby vehicle before leaving the area. Sequim Police, Clallam County deputies, and a Port Angeles K-9 unit responded within minutes but were unable to locate the suspect.
The FBI is assisting in the ongoing investigation, which now centers on evidence collection and interviews with witnesses. Detectives are working to enhance surveillance footage.
