SEQUIM — If you’ve been looking forward to checking out the new and improved Sequim Library, you’ll have to wait just a little longer.
According to North Olympic Library System, the reopening has been pushed to late July or early August. The delay is due to some custom materials—like glass panels and dividing walls—that are arriving later than expected.
This follows earlier delays in the fall, when steel deliveries were also held up. Officials say the project is still on budget.
The $10.6 million renovation will nearly double the library’s size, adding more space for books, seating, restrooms, and meeting rooms.
NOLS originally hoped to reopen in the spring, then before the Summer Reading Program.
